Russian court seizes house, land of former econ min Ulyukayev
MOSCOW, Dec 16 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Basmanny District Court of Moscow has seized 10 land plots and a house of former Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev in a U.S. $2 million bribery case, court representative Yunona Tsaryova told PRIME on Friday.
“The court levied arrest upon 10 land sites and a house in the Smolensk Region on November 29,” she said without elaborating.
Ulyukayev was dismissed as the economic development minister in November after detention and house arrest on charges of receiving the $2 million bribe for granting the ministry’s approval that allowed oil major Rosneft to buy the state’s 50.08% stake in oil firm Bashneft. Later, President Vladimir Putin appointed former Deputy Finance Minister Maxim Oreshkin to chair the Economic Development Ministry.
